Outreach Coordinator, Arapahoe County, Englewood, CO. US

Arapahoe County, Colorado, is seeking an outreach coordinator for the Juvenile Diversion Counseling Program.

This position will work closely with the primary wilderness counselor as well as other team members to ensure this program component runs effectively and efficiently. This position will be responsible for organizing, scheduling, budgeting, and making all the necessary arrangements for experiential trips and activities for the Juvenile Diversion Counseling Program. These programs include the following: restorative justice, day and overnight wilderness trips and community service trips. The position will also serve as a liaison to the community directly working with multiple organizations including but not limited to; schools, public and private organizations, mental health and juvenile justice agencies.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Researching, planning and organizing experiential activities

  • Organize, prepare and pack equipment. Key equipment includes: sleeping bags, backpacks, stoves, first aid packs, tents, rain gear and fleece
  • Attend and facilitate meetings as a representative of the JDCP & the 18th Judicial Dictrict
  • Create and distribute prevention and intervention fliers, brochures and literature
  • Organize, recruit and schedule volunteers for restorative justice program
  • Track and report community contacts, presentations and completed projects
  • Write goals, outcomes and policies for outreach program.
  • A flexible schedule is required, including some weekends, as the work schedule is structured around weekend excursion coursework.
