Clearview Educational Center, a non-profit alternative school serving at-risk youth in grades 6-12, is seeking a bilingual Language Arts/English Teacher (29 hours per week/.725 FTE) for the upcoming school year.
Clearview Educational Center is an alternative transition program for expelled middle and high school students of the St. Vrain Valley School District designed to help expelled students improve their behavior and academic work. Through a non-traditional, small class program led by a small team of creative and committed teachers and counselors, students return to school better prepared to succeed. Candidates must be passionate about teaching and building relationships with at-risk youth, teaching and modeling conflict resolution skills, and providing alternative approaches to discipline. Candidates must also be comfortable creating individualized learning plans based on learning styles and individual needs, as well as creatively engaging students through experiential learning.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Must possess or be willing to pursue State of Colorado Teaching Certification
- At least one year experience teaching English and Language Arts
- An understanding of and/or willingness to learn about and engage in Restorative Practices
