User-Specific Navigation

The new look will include tabs across the top for most of the key users of RJOnline. Each tab will open a “landing page” devoted to the interests of those users.

For example, the Policymaker tab will information, news and resources needed by legislators, policy analysts, and others who are interested in incorporating restorative justice into public policy. The content on this page will describe the policy arguments for restorative justice as well as the issues it raises. It will provide on overview of outcome research as that relates to considerations about where and how to incorporate it into the criminal justice system. There will be links to inter-governmental policy documents on the use of restorative justice and to examples of legislation incorporating it into the justice system. And so forth.

The Press tab, on the other hand, will provide information about the history of restorative justice, the different forms it takes, what we know about its effectiveness, and stories of people who have participated in restorative processes. It will offer talking points on restorative justice and notable quotes on the topic. And so forth.

Visitors used to the existing navigation bar will still be able to open the site as they have in the past, although the new design means that the navigation will be done differently. The RJLibrary with its searchable database of 9000 publications will continue to be available from the home page as well as the landing pages.
