A Bit of History

The first version of RJ Online went live in 1997 and was essentially an online document providing an overview of the concept, programmes, and issues related to restorative justice. Some of this lives on in the Tutorial found in the current Introduction. The site was built with simple html programming.

There have been two major changes since then. One was when we moved to a much more attractive design based on FrontPage. The second was when we moved to the Open Source content management system Plone. The latter move, particularly, has made it possible for us to expand coverage of this topic considerably. We are staying with Plone, but are upgrading to Plone 3. The work is being done – as it has been for a number of years – by the terrific Australian web development company Mooball.
